The CZ Shadow 2 OR has an Optics Ready cut in the slide. Your red dot does not go into the cut directly. It sits on a plate that fits the cut on one side and the footprint of your red dot on the other. With the right plate you can mount most pistol red dots on your Shadow 2 OR. You can choose original CZ plates and plates from Eemann Tech, Evo Arms, Impact Machine, Toni System, 2BME and Outer Impact.

Universal plates
A universal plate takes two or three footprints. If you are not sure which red dot you will use, it keeps more options open:
- Toni System type A: Shield RMSc, Leupold DPP and Docter.
- Toni System type E: C-More RTS, Vortex Razor and Toni System.
- Toni System type S: Trijicon RMR and C-More RTS.
- Eemann Tech type D: Shield RMSc, Vortex Razor and Docter.
- Outer Impact type C: Trijicon RMR, C-More RTS and Docter.
Plates with iron sights
Impact Machine makes plates with sights built in. You can choose a plate with sights or with forward sights for the Trijicon RMR footprint, or the type S plate with sights for Shield RMSc, Holosun K-series and Leupold DPP. You keep iron sights on the pistol even when the red dot is off.
Steel or aluminium
Most plates are steel, from CZ, Evo Arms, Eemann Tech and Impact Machine. The universal plates from Toni System, Outer Impact and Eemann Tech and the 2BME plates are aluminium, which is lighter.
Screws, filler and a red dot without a plate
- Screws come with every plate. If you lose or damage them, you can buy a set of 2 spare screws for CZ Optics Ready plates. The recommended torque is 1.3 Nm.
- The Angry Bear front sight filler closes the hole if you remove the front sight held by a pin.
- The Vector Optics Frenzy 1x20x24 uses the Shadow 2 OR footprint and fits the Shadow 2 OR and Shadow 2 Compact without a plate.
